[Pós-Doc] University of Minnesota

The Nuclear Theory Group at the University of Minnesota expects to have a postdoctoral Research Associate position available beginning in fall of 2020. The permanent group members are Joseph Kapusta and Yong Qian. Their current research interests include heavy ion collisions at RHIC and LHC, AdS/QCD, finite temperature field theory, neutron stars, neutrino astrophysics, supernova explosions and gamma-ray bursts, evolution and nucleosynthesis of massive stars, and chemical evolution of galaxies. Appointments are made for one year and normally are renewable for a second, subject to funding and performance.

Carry out original research on one or more of the following topics: heavy ion collisions at RHIC and LHC, AdS/QCD, finite temperature field theory, neutron stars, neutrino astrophysics, supernova explosions and gamma-ray bursts, evolution and nucleosynthesis of massive stars, and chemical evolution of galaxies.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in physics, astronomy or related fields by beginning date of appointment.
