Abstract
In this work it is described the morphological, structural and electrochemical studies of the polyaniline-magnetite hybrid material (Pani-Fe3O4), obtained through conventional chemical synthesis. The precursor and the hybrid material were synthesized and characterized by the same techniques to compare and evaluate if the hybrid undergoes changes or improvements in their electrochemical properties, compared to the precursor. By scanning electron microscopy is observed agglomerates for Pani-Fe3O4 material and the X-ray diffraction indicates a good interaction between the phases. The UV-Vis spectrum shows the main characteristic transition of polyaniline in conductive form, emeraldine salt. The proportion of iron (34.03 ± 0.1) % incorporated in the hybrid material was estimate by EDXRF measurements. Thermal analysis shows the mass losses with the degradation temperature of the hybrid material. It was possible to evaluate by cyclic voltammetry that the hybrid material is more electrochemically stable than pure polyaniline.
