The FAPESP topical collaboration on Theoretical Studies of the Structure and Reactions of Exotic Nuclei and Many-Body Systems (Projeto temático 2017/05660-0 da Fundação de Amparao à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo), composed of members of the nuclear physics groups at the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) in São José dos Campos, Brazil, and the Instituto de Física Teórica (IFT) in São Paulo, Brazil, invites applications for three postdoctoral fellowships on phenomenological aspects of nuclear, particle and atomic physics. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: few-body models of exotic nuclei and of nuclear reactions, relativistic models of nuclei and nuclear matter, particle physics on the light-cone, and fermion and boson condensates.
Two of the positions will be located at ITA under the supervision of Profs. Brett Carlson and Tobias Frederico. The other will be located at IFT under the supervision of Prof. Lauro Tomio.
FAPESP postdoctoral fellowships are for two years, with a possibility for extension of up to two more years, and pay an annual tax-free salary of 88,400 Brazilian reais as well as 13,200 Brazilian reais annually for travel and research expenses. An extra month’s salary for moving costs is also included for those relocating more than 400 km.
Applications should include a CV (including a list of publications), a research statement, and the emails and institutional addresses of three previous research-collaborators who can be contacted for references, to be submitted by e-mail to Brett Carlson
Review of applications will begin on November 1, 2019 and will continue until the positions have been filled. An interview through a remote connection may be requested.
The starting date for successful candidates is flexible, but is anticipated to be early 2020.
